Between research, art and politics, this book is a contribution to the battle that is being waged at the beginning of the XXIᵉ century to reconstruct futures in an age haunted by end-of-the-world ideologies. Camille de Toledo invited Aliocha Imhoff and Kantuta Quirós, two art theorists, to collectively elaborate a thought for open times, “potential times”, in order to fight against this “reality” of finitude, melancholy, absence of hope. Our world lacks the “expansion principle” that the authors seek to establish at every scale of our individual and collective existence. This protean – “trans” – book invites us to metamorphose our relationship with reality and time, to read reality from its potentialities.
